International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC)
The International Institute of Coffee Tasters (Iiac) is a non-profit association financed exclusively by membership fees. It was founded in 1993 with the aim of researching and disseminating a scientific method of coffee tasting. Since its inception, the Iiac has held hundreds of courses attended by more than 12,000 professionals from more than 40 countries worldwide. The Iiac has an important scientific committee that plans research to ensure innovation in the sector: its members include university professors, technicians and professionals.
The International Institute of Coffee Tasters organizes the coffee competition "International Coffee Tasting". The objectives of the International Coffee Tasting are: 1. to create a competition with coffees from all over the world to show the hedonic quality of this product from particularly suitable areas, carefully grown, skillfully processed, expertly selected and roasted, and masterfully blended when necessary; 2. to put the best products in the spotlight by showing consumers the best coffees on the market; 3. to motivate producers to pursue quality in its most modern definition, i.e. consumer satisfaction.
