Haupt Lakrits sweet licorice pieces contain 9% raw licorice from Calabria – significantly more than the usual 2 to 6% found in other varieties. This gives them a particularly intense aroma with subtle notes of herbs, tobacco, and tar.

The taste is sweet, spicy, and slightly smoky. The firm consistency provides noticeable chewing resistance, while the dry surface and balanced mouthfeel result in a long-lasting aftertaste.

This special licorice is produced in the traditional way: through an eight-hour cooking process and a maturing period of ten weeks. No colorants, glazing agents, or E additives are used.
